Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The "AQUILA Aviation by Excellence AG" was founded in 1995 and the design of the composite constructed two-seat cruising and training aircraft began in 1997. The prototype, D-EQUI powered by an 100 hp Rotax 912S four-cylinder liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed engine, was flown for the first time on March 5, 2000, gaining its JAR-VLA certification in September 2001. This type is marketed as the Aquila A210, while it is certified as the Aquila AT01."
