Consolidated 40 PB4Y-2 Privateer

07/31/2009. Remarks by John Voss: "Produced under the BuNo. 59742, the aircraft was accepted by the USN February 20, 1945, and was delivered to VPB-143 Squadron on July 6, 1945. It was transferred to several squadrons, including VP-197 at NAS North Island, San Diego, California, and was struck off charge as early as September 29, 1947.

In 1956, 59742 was sold to the Honduran AF where it was converted into a transport looking much like a RY-3 and given the military serial 796. In 1973 it came on the Honduran civil register as HR-195-P. It was later sold and returned to the US and was given the civil registration N7683C. On January 14, 1977 the registration was revoked, the aircrafts current status is unknown."
