Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the US airline Transcontinental and Western Airlines (TWA) of New York City on July 20, 1934, registered NC13719 and assigned fleet number 309. It was sold to the US airline Braniff Airways of Dallas, Texas on July 29, 1937 and assigned fleet number 409.
It was impressed by the Defense Supply Corp. (DSC) on June 1, 1942 at Hensley Field in Dallas and was acquired by the USAAF on June 19th as a C-32A, s/n 42-61096, one of 24 commercial DC-2s drafted by the military. Beginning in July 1943, this aircraft was used by TWA for contract training until transferred to the DSC and delivered to Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos (TACA) of Mexico on September 19, 1944 and purchased by Aerovias Brasil, S.A., Empresa de Transportes of Rio de Janeiro on August 8, 1945.
It was registered PP-AVG on January 3, 1946 and registered to Aerovias SA of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil on April 16, 1946 and delivered on December 16th. The aircraft was written off when it crashed at Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on February 5, 1947, apparently without loss of lives."
