02/28/2014. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Ultracraft Calypso was designed by Erik Reynders of Zolder, Belgium, with the aim to provide the homebuilder a single-engined kitplane that was affordable to buy, to fly, to maintain and to store. Available in single- and two-seat versions, the aircraft is of mixed steel-wood-composite construction and can be fitted with a power plant from a number of manufacturers, including BMW, Citroën, Hirth, Jabiru and Rotax.
The single-seat prototype, registered OO-B59 (c/n 001), was first flown in October 1994. By 2009 at least 24 kits had been sold and seventeen had flown, all in Belgium."
