12/31/2013. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The CP.301 S Mistral was a one-off aircraft built in Germany by Horst Becker. It was built from a Binder CP.301 S Smaragd kit and differed from the latter in several aspects. Engine was an 150 hp Lycoming O-320 and apart from a generally beefed up structure, the Mistral had a different sliding canopy, a taller and more pointed fin and rudder, a larger ventral fin and featured own design wing tip tanks.
Registered D-EOUV it was first flown in July 1979. The 'OUV' in the registration stands for Oskar Ursinus Vereinigung (Oskar Ursinus Association), the German Counterpart of the EAA, PFA, etc. The 'AB' in the construction number stands for Amateur Bau (amateur building)."
