Pine Air Super V

06/30/2015. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was originally built in 1948 as a Beech Model 35 (c/n D-1243) and was registered NC4438V (later N4438V), thereafter N177M. Subsequently it became the first Super V conversion manufactured by Fleet in Canada under the Pine Air Type Certificate. Allotted a new a new c/n, it was reregistered as N249C, consecutive owners were Lewis C.Reese of Fairmont, West Virginia and Thomas J. Shannon of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The next owner, Joe Speidel of Kendall, Florida, registered it N68JS, and the last owner, Green Horne Corporation of Lake City, Florida, had it reregistered to N2115K. The aircraft was lost in a fatal crash on February 19, 1976, inbound from Savannah, Tennessee and on approach to Iuka Airport, Iuka, Mississippi, it stalled trying to avoid power lines. The two occupants were killed."
