Pictured: Jimmy Doolittle in the "One stop" Coast-to-Coast record setting D.H.4B. On 4 September 1922 he flew in 22 hours and 35 minutes from Pablo Beach, Florida to San Diego, California, including a 1 hour and 16 minutes refuellling stop at Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross with this flight. |
