07/31/2018. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "On 30 March 1933, the RSiamAS (Royal Siamese Aeronautical Service) ordered twelve two-seat Vought V-93 Corsairs, a modified version of the Vought O3U-6. The following year, nine V-93S standard reconnaissance and light bombers, and three V-93SA attack aircraft were delivered. In the RSiamAS these twelve aircraft were designated Type 23 or BJ.1 (Attack Aircraft No. 1).
With these twelve aircraft Siam bought also license rights and the Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering of the RSiamAS at Bangsue built batches in 1936, 1937 and 1940. Depending on the source, the total number built vary from 70 to 130. A trainer version was developed in Siam and ten were delivered to the RSiamAS, these were designated Type 87 or BF.5 (Training aircraft No. 5).
The Royal Thai Air Force (as the RSiamAS was renamed in 1939) withdrew the last V.93 from service in 1950."
