This aircraft was one of 585 produced under license by the Springfield Aircraft Corporation of Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, and was delivered to the USAAS at Hazelhurst Field at Mineola, New York in April 1918. It was acquired by the Smithsonian Institution on November 25, 1918. The JN-4 was nicknamed "Jenny". |
