02/28/2008. Built by Republic the aircraft was delivered to McDonald Aviation, Edmonton, on October 13, 1946, registered as CF-DYI. Initially powered by a 215 hp Franklin 6A8-215-B9F six-cylinder, horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine, it has been re-engined with a similar 295 hp Lycoming GO-480.

On May 17, 1971 it was registered (and still is as of this day) to David Smith of Vancouver, British Columbia, although the registration changed to C-FDYI.
