Remarks by Wolfgang Borgmann, a freelance aviation journalist working on an article about the HFB-320: "Looking through my files, I indentified the Hansa on your picture as N666LC. No other N registration of a HFB-320 started in the1960s with a double six. It was owned by Loews Corporation, White Plains, New York, USA. This aircraft has the c/n 1039 and was preowned by the Canadian Millard Air. I attach a picture showing the same aircraft with the Canadian registration CF-WDU. It is taken from an original Millard Air postcard."

The following text from Aviation Week is not unique to the aircraft pictured:
03/30/1964. First prototype of the Hamburger Flugzeubau HFB-320 Hansa twin-jet executive aircraft has been completed and is in pre-flight ground test. Final assembly of the second Hansa prototype is to begin soon.
05/04/1964. First prototype of the... HFB-320... made a successful 73-min first flight recently from the company airstrip at Hamburg, to Bremen, Germany. The firm's test pilot Loren William Davis, was at the controls.
06/07/1965. Geneva- Stick-pushers will be installed on production versions of the HFB 320 business jet to preclude the possibility of these aircraft encountering the same type stall that is believed to have caused the crash of the No. 1 prototype May 12 near Madrid. A company-issued report last week laid the blame for the crash, which killed Chief Test Pilot Loren Davis on a "superstall" followed by a uncontrollable flat spin. The aircraft was in the midst of stall configuration tests at 22,000 ft (6,706 m) when it attained an extreme angle of attack resulting in a superstall.
