Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft made its first flight on March 7, 1962 and was delivered to Seaboard World Airlines of New York, New York, USA, on April 5, 1962 registered N123SW. This CL-44 was leased to the British airline Transglobe Airways based at Gatwick Airport, London, England, between May 29, 1968 and January 31, 1969 registered G-AWGT.
Sold to Tradewinds Airways, Ltd. of Gatwick Airport on February 6, 1969, this aircraft was leased to Cyprus Airways on April 22, 1978 as G-AWGT. Cyprus Airways reregistered it as 5B-DAN in June 1979. On November 4, 1980, the aircraft was attempting a landing at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, but the landing gear could not be lowered. A belly landing on foam was made and the aircraft was written off."
