The following text from Aviation Week is not unique to the aircraft pictured:
12/19/1960. An Air Force Boeing B-52G set a 10,000 mls (16,093 km) non-refueled closed course endurance record last week.... The B-52G... flew the 10,000 mls in 19 hr 45 min, eclipsing the 1947 B-29 record of 8,854.3 mls (14,249.6 km).
03/09/1964. CREWMEN FLY B-52 DAMAGED IN TURBULENCE. Tail surface of (an) instrumented B-52H jet bomber was torn away when the aircraft encountered violent turbulence during a test flight Janunary 10. The Boeing crew kept the bomber aloft without a vertical stabilizer for more than 4 hr and landed it safely. The tail surface was apparently ripped away from the structure during an 8 sec period, after which the aircraft yawed severely over a 20- to 30-deg. arc but maintained altitude.
10/04/1965. Internal conventional bomb-load capacity of the Boeing B-52 long-range jet bomber will be increased substantially in the near future. At present only 30 Guam-based B-52s, which are playing an increasing role in Vietnam, have been converted to carry conventional ordnance. Their loads include 27 750-lb (340 kg) bombs in the bomb bay plus 12 750-lb. bombs under each wing.

07/31/2011. Remarks by John Blalock: "This plane used to be at McCoy AFB, Orlando, Florida and had a bad reputation for write-ups. It would come in with about forty write-ups every time it finished a mission. I think it is on display at Anderson AFB Guam now.I was at McCoy from 1963 to 1967."
