Redesignated S-2A in 1962 the aircraft served with 87°Gruppo AS and was lost in a crash at Valguarnera, Sicily, Italy, on April 10, 1964. Two of the crew were killed.

The following text from Aviation Week is not unique to the aircraft pictured:
