04/23/62. First Lockheed C-130E turboprop transport was delivered to Charleston AFB, South Carolina, USA, recently. Primary duty of the C-130E Hercules, which will see duty both with the Military Air Transport Service and the Tactical Air Command, is overseas airlift of US combat forces. The C-130E has increased take off weight and carries additional fuel in pylon tanks. Range is 1,000 nautical mls (1,852 km) greater than C-130B.
