10/31/2006. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Manufactured in 1953, this aircraft was delivered to the Iraqi AF, s/n 313, the land-based type was unofficially known as "Bagdad Fury". In 1979 it was exported to the USA where it was restored to flying condition between 1990 and 1992, the Bristol Centaurus 18 being replaced by a Wright R-3350. Registered as N24SF it was flown from 1992 to 1996 listed as Racer number "8", thereafter it was listed as Racer number "105" and named "Spirit of Texas".
In 2006 it ended at the fifth place in the Unlimited Class Gold at an avearge speed of 428.753 mph (690.011 kmh)."
