Ordered for the Royal Navy on August 21, 1948, this aircraft was
delivered as VZ351. In 1957 it was repurchased by Hawker,
reconditioned, and registered as G-9-56 ('Class B' markings). It
was sold to the German government as D-CEDO in 1960. In 1972 it was
de-registered, between 1975 and 1985 it was stored in Belgium, the
registration OO-SFY was reserved but not taken up. In October 1985
it was shipped to the USA and in May 1997 it flew again as N233MB
after being restored, re-engined with a Wright R-3350 and listed as
Racer number "911" and named "September Pops". |
