"This is the Atlas-Agena B rocket combination which will be used
by NASA in the forthcoming launch of the Ranger I spacecraft from
Cape Canaveral, Florida. This is the first in a series of Ranger
launches. While this flight is a test and the spacecraft will not go
near the moon, later Ranger spacecraft will be used to place highly
sensitive instruments on the lunar surface." |
