This type was produced by Consolidated Vultee under the trade name Convair. This aircraft was operated by Western Air Lines as N8408H from 1948 to 1961, when it was acquired by North Japan Airlines as JA5092 and then by Korean Air as HL25. Southwest Airlines also flew it under a lease. Civil owners have been Air Service Inc. and Texas Instruments as N240HH.
