08/31/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the USAAF as C-46F-1-CU s/n 44-78570 in July 1945. It was leased to Seaboard and Western Airlines of New York, New York, USA, from August 11, 1949 to November 8, 1951 registered N1646M and used to fly contract cargo flights across the Atlantic Ocean.
In 1951, it was loaned to Canada's Eldorado Aviation Ltd and registered CF-FCI. The aircraft was severely damaged on May 31, 1957 when it belly landed in the slough north of Edmonton Airport, Alberta. The damaged aircraft was purchased by Aviation Parts and Equipment Co. of Sun Valley, California, USA, and repaired at Blatchford Field, Edmonton.
After the repairs were completed (as pictured above) the aircraft was registered in the USA as N7903C and sold to an unknown company or person in Venezuela in 1960. The aircraft was reregistered YV-1037-P. In June 1965 it was sold to the non-scheduled cargo carrier Rutas Aéreas Uncia of Cochamba, Bolivia, and reregistered CP-769. The aircraft was destroyed when it crashed at San Ramon, Bolivia, on June 3, 1967."
