Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the US Navy on February 24, 1945 and in May 1945, was issued to Patrol Bombing Squadron Two Hundred (VPB-200) assigned to Fleet Air Wing Two (FAW-2) and based at NAS Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii, USA. In June 1945, the aircraft was re-issued to Patrol Bombing Squadron One Hundred Forty Eight (VPB-148) at NAS Kaneohe Bay and in August it was reassigned to VPB-200. In October 1945, it was assigned as a pool aircraft at NAS Barbers Point, Oahu, until it was stricken from the Navy on December 31, 1945 as being 'obsolescent'." |
