Remarks by Ron Dupas: In December 2001 I was fortunate to have been contacted by Mr. Ed Coates who told me that he had "hundreds of VH- stuff" (Australian aircraft) but didn't want to inundate me with photos I didn't want. I think you'll agree with me that if the rest of his "stuff" is as good as those presented here, whether US, Australian or any other, then please, "inundate!" Ed Coates was born in the UK and emigrated to Australia in the early 1950s. He then moved to the US in 1956, residing primarily in California. Over the past forty years he has lived in Taiwan, China, Kualu Lumpar and Saudi Arabia. Ed is now retired in North Carolina. He has a large collection of VH- registered aircraft of the 1940s and 1950s era. In the late 1950s and 1960s he visited most Southern California airfields photographing aircraft.
