Excerpted from "British Built Aircraft" by Ron Smith: "In the early years of the Short Brothers company the designs were known by the construction numbers, so this was the thirty-sixth aircraft built. This tractor biplane was ordered by F.K. McClean, construction at Eastchurch, Kent, UK, was completed late December 1911, and the first flight was made on January 10, 1912." |
