02/28/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This is the 84th DC-10 built and was registered N1349U by the manufacturer. It was delivered to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines on February 8, 1973 registered PH-DTE and named Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The aircraft was sold to a US leasing company on February 21, 1984 and registered N130FA and then sold to SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) on September 9, 1985, registered SE-DFG and named Vngve Viking. On April 13, 1988, it was sold to a leasing company and leased back to SAS.

Sold to another leasing company on June 1, 1989, it was leased to the Yugoslav airline Jugo-slovenski Aerotransport from June 1, 1989 to November 27, 1991 and then stored at Mojave Airport, Mojave, California, USA. The aircraft was purchased by several companies and was registered N821CC in February 1992 and a company in Antigua registered it V2-LEA in November 1992. It was leased to the Belgian airline Skyjet Europe on November 13, 1992 registered V2-LEA and then subleased to the Belgian airline Sobelair from April 1 to September 1, 1994.

The aircraft was sold to a Belgian company who reregistered it OO-PHN and continued the lease with Skyjet Europe. Sobelair again subleased it from December 10, 1994 to February 10, 1995. The following day, it was subleased to the Brazilian airline VASP from February 10, 1995 to February 3, 1996 as OO-PHN. Skyjet Europe subleased to the Ghanaian airline Ghana Airways on May 26, 1996 and this airline reregistered it 9G-PHN in March 1997. The sub lease expired in February 2000 and Skyjet returned it to its owner who leased it to Ghana Airways on December 31, 2001. The aircraft was placed in storage at Rome, Italy in February 2003."
