Vultee 48C P-66 Vanguard

Text accompanying photo: The Vanguard P-66, hard hitting, single-seat pursuit plane was manufactured by Convair for the Chinese government. Powered by a 1200 hp engine, the P-66 had a maximum speed of 340 mph. Four .30 caliber (7.62 mm) and two .50 caliber (12.7 mm) machine guns comprised the armament. Gross weight of the plane was 6,985 lb (3,168 kg) and it could carry a useful load of 1,747 lb (792 kg) for 600 miles (966 km). Wingspan was 36 ft (10.97 m), and its length was 28 ft 4 in (8.59 m).
