12/22/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was purchased by the Humble Oil & Refining Co. of Houston, Texas, USA, registered NC17310 and delivered on January 11, 1937. With the outbreak of World War II, the RCAF needed aircraft and this machine was sold to the Department of Nation Defence and registered CF-BRT. It was subsequently transferred to the RCAF on August 21, 1940 with s/n 7654. It is not known which units this aircraft was assigned to. The RCAF struck this 12-A off the books on December 1, 1944, and it was transferred to the Department of Transportation and registered CF-DTQ. Its fate is unknown but it possibly crashed near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada but the date is unknown." |
