10/31/2009. In July 1937, at Dübendorf airfield near Zurich, the Swiss were hosts for the International Military Aircraft Competition. Here, the eight prototype V8 was introduced as the Do 17 MV1, a specially built high-speed demonstration aircraft powered by two 1,000 h.p. Daimier Benz DB 600A engines. It achieved 284 mph (457 kmh), some 50 mph (80 kmh) faster than the standard production Do 17E-1.
