Boeing 747-148

05/15/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft made its first flight on November 3, 1970 and was delivered to Aer Lingus on December 15, 1970 named "St. Colmcille" (Columba). Aer Lingus leased the aircraft to other airlines twice: the first time to Thailand's Air Siam between September 28, 1973 and April 17, 1976 where it was registered HS-VGF and named "Doi Suthep" and to Algeria's Air Algerie for ten days between October 3 and 13, 1979. Aer Lingus sold this 747 to Global Aircraft Leasing (Ireland) on July 15, 1991 and leased it back the same day. In April 1994, the aircraft was renamed "St. Oliver Plunkett".

In November 1994, the aircraft was withdrawn from service and placed in storage at Dublin, Ireland and then moved to Marana, Arizona, USA, in June 1995. On February 14, 1997, the aircraft was sold to Kabo Air of Kano, Nigeria, and registered 5N-ZZZ until being withdrawn from use in April 2000 and stored at the Roswell Industrial Air Center Airport (the former Walker AFB), Roswell, New Mexico. The aircraft was scrapped in April 2003."
