05/31/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This two-seat aircraft featured maximum visibility for the observer and good flight control at low speed. It could also be disassembled and transported by truck.
Two XL-15 prototypes (46-520 and 46-521) and ten YL-15 service test aircraft (47-423 to 47-432, c/n 20003 to 20012) were built by Boeing at Wichita but after tests, the Army rejected the design and transferred the ten YL-15s to the US Forest Service and the Department of the Interior which operated them with civil registrations. An order for 47 L-15s was cancelled."
