03/31/2008. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This YC-130-LO came off the assembly line on August 23, 1954 and began testing with Lockheed in December 1954. Delivered to the USAF in December 1955, it went to the Allison Division of the General Motors Corp. for engine installation tests in July 1959 and was redesignated NC-130-CO. Placed in storage at Robbins AFB, Warner Robbins, Georgia, in 1960, the aircraft was loaned to Allison for engine tests in October 1961 and then scrapped at Indianapolis, Indiana, in April 1962." |
