12/31/2007. Built at Eastleigh, Hampshire, England, the aircraft was fitted with extended span wing tips and the revised Vokes Microvee air filter. It was first flown on February 25, 1943 and delivered to the RAF the following day. The aircraft was operated by the RCAF 417 Squadron (hence the code AN-O) from November 1, 1943. The Public Archives of Canada state this aircraft was pictured on January 10, 1944, although another source states it was hit by Flak on December 8, 1943, and subsequently abandoned. |
