09/30/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This P-3B-90-LO is shown in the markings of Patrol Squadron Twenty Three (VP-23) based at NAS Brunswick, Maine, USA. This squadron received its first P-3B in November 1969 and began transitioning to P-3Cs in October 1978. The squadron was assigned to Fleet Air Wing Three (FAW-3) in 1969 and reassigned to FAW-5 in July 1971. FAW was redesignated Patrol Wing Five (PatWing-5) on July 1, 1971."
