Farman MF.7ter

Remarks by Kees Kort: "Built in 1913, the Maurice Farman MF.7ter was an intermediate design between the MF.7, of which it featured the tail configuration, the tail beams and the tub cockpit mounted on the lower wing, and the MF.11 as it also lacked the front stabilizer. It had a different wing-section, a Henri Farman type landing chassis and was fitted with an 80 hp De Dion Bouton eight-cylinder pusher V-engine. It was in use as a touring aircraft."

In November 1, 1913 issue of the British magazine Flight is stated:

The Second October Meeting at the Hendon Aerodrome last Saturday was very well attended considering the time of the year.

Pierre Verrier brought out and tried a new type Maurice Farman belonging to the Marquis de Larienty Tholozan, a well-known aviator in France. Judging from its performance in the hands of Verrier it appears to be a highly successful combination of the two Farmans, having the advantages of each type, the lightness and speed range of the 'Maurice Farman' and the speed and unobstructed view of the 'Henri Farman'.

The Marquis Larienty-Tholozan, a nephew of the Marquis De Dion, a well-known automobile and engine manufacturer of France, was flying his new Farman biplane. Although the Marquis had never previously taken his seat in this machine, without a hitch, after the propeller had been given its usual spin, he was up in the air and made two circuits of the aerodrome.
