Nick Stanich Sr. was born December 19, 1925. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio on East 76th and Aetna. His family then moved to Rathbun Avenue where he lived out his teenage years. As a young boy he would spend many weekends at a friend's farm in Hudson, Ohio, where he would sneak off to the local airstrip to hitch airplane rides with pilots.
