04/30/2008. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "This original design all composite pusher type two-seater was developed by Société Ameur Aviation Technology of designer Mr. Bousad Ameur and first flew in 1998 under the power of a 118 hp Lycoming O-235-L2A engine.

The Baljims 1A was initially known as the Balbuzard II, and had been preceded by the Balbuzard (first flight July 8, 1995 with 80 hp Rotax 912A engine) and Balbuzard L-235 (Lycoming O-235) and further development included the Baljims 1B (similar to the Baljims 1A, but 125 hp Continental
O-240 engine) and Baljims MP-B (motor glider version of the Baljims 1B with 46 ft 6 in, 14.17 m, wingspan).

Despite many plans no production of the Baljims took place and further projected developments were the Altania UL or Altania RG80UL with 80 hp Jabiru 2200 engine and the Altania Saphir 2+2 with 120 hp Jabiru 3300."
