Custer CCW-5 Channel Wing

11/30/2019. Remarks by Larry Westin: "During the early 1950s, Custer formed the Custer Channel Wing Corporation to develop and build the five-seat CCW-5. The design which was intended for commercial sale. The first example N6257C has a fuselage which was designed by Custer but built by the Baumann Corporation of Santa Barbara, California, the same fuselage as the Baumann Brigadier. The wing utilizes an unique Custer design to increase lift and give a short take off distance and good slow flight. Power was from two pusher 225 h.p. Continental O-470 engines. The first flight was made on July 13, 1953."
