This aircraft was built as a JRF-5 for the US Navy, BuNo. 37824 in July 1944 and transferred to the RCAF as a Goose Mk.II on August 24, 1944, s/n 391. Struck off charge on February 14, 1946 it came on the civil registry as CF-BFS. Soon thereafter is was registered to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as CF-MPG, later reregistered to C-FMPG. It was operated throughout Canada till 1994, serving in continuous public use longer than any other Canadian aircraft. It was donated to the Canada Aviation Musuem in 1995. |
