The following text from Aviation Week is not unique to the aircraft pictured:

07/02/1962. Last of 744 B-52s built by Boeing rolled out at Witchita Division's final assembly area June 22nd. Of the total Stratofortress production, 466 have been built at Witchita.... Nearly 4,000 subcontractors in 43 states were involved in the B-52 effort.

B-52, B-58 PRODUCTION. Washington- Boeing B-52 and General Dynamics B-58 bombers ended their production cycle at the exact same time - October 26, 1962 - when the Air Force took delivery of their last models. The first production model of the B-52 was delivered to the Strategic Air Command's 93rd Bomb Wing at Castle AFB, California, June 29, 1955. This was a B-52B model. Boeing produced two prototype B-52s; three B-52As; 50 B-52Bs; 35 B-52Cs; 170 B-52Ds; 100 B-53Es; 89 B-52Fs; and about 250 B-52G and H models for a total of 699. Boeing estimates the unit cost of the B-52 at $8 million.

12/20/1965. SAC BOMBER PHASE-OUT TIMETABLE. This listing shows which Strategic Air Command bombers will be scrapped under the plan announced by Defense Department Secretary Robert S. McNamara December 8. All told, there will be 315 Boeing B-52B through F models and 80 General Dynamics B-58s phased out between now and 1971. Another 30 B-52D and F models at Castle AFB, California, also may be scrapped.
