12/22/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was built as a B-25H-5-NA, USAAF s/n 43-4432 and sold to civilian owners in 1947 registered NL90399. With the FAA's elimination of the letter "L" on January 1, 1949, it became N90399. It was reregistered N10V in February 1952 and still retains that registration number. While passing through several owners and companies, it was converted in 1954-1955 to a Executive version and received a pointed tail cone. It was sold to Filmways Inc. of Hollywood, California, in 1968 and used in the motion picture "Catch-22" as "Berlin Express". In 1972, it was purchased by the EAA Aviation Foundation and restored to flying condition between 1975 and 1985 by EAA volunteers. Renamed "City of Burlington", this aircraft is currently on static display at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA." |
