McKillop: "This was the 384th DC-6/DC-7 built and was
delivered to Canadian Pacific Airlines of Vancouver, British Columbia,
on June 18, 1953 registered CF-CUR and named "Empress of Rio de
Janeiro;" it was subsequently renamed "Empress of Amsterdam." It was
sold to the French airline UAT (Union Aeromaritime de Transports) on
May 1, 1959 and reregistered F-BHMS. It was leased to Libiavia (Nord
Africa Aviazone SpA) from January to June 1962 and UAT became UTA
(Union de Transportes Aeriens) on October 1, 1963. |
