WreckedAircraft

Remarks by Carlo Soliani: "The big tri-motor wrecked that appear in the photo is a Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 Marsupiale (Marsupial) that still bears the italian flag on the fuselage; this means that the plane had been used by ANR (Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana) that was the Air Force of the government created in North Italy by Mussolini after Armistice of September 1943."

Remarks by Robert Bracken: "The photo above first appeared in Tom Coughlin's "Dangerous Sky" book. The Bf 109s visible are both Bf 109 Ks from JG 27 at Wunstorf. There is also a third Bf 109 - also a late model, probably a Bf 109 G-14 beside the Ju 88 in the background.

WreckedAircraft

The partially charred remains in the foreground on this photo probably belonged to a Siebel Si 204 D, a twin-engined light transport aircraft; behind there are the probable remains of one or more Junkers Ju-88: the fuselage tail assembly (on the right) and the engine nacelles (on the left)."
