Remarks by Chris Pinn: "An early Fairey Battle Mk.I of 63 Squadron photographed in November 1939 during the so-called 'phoney war' period. 63 Squadron was the first squadron to receive Battles in May 1937 when based at Upwood as a replacement for their Hawker Audaxes. At the time of the photo the squadron was based at Benson, England."
