05/20/2003. Remarks by
Carlo Soliani: "Series production Breda 88 Lince (Lynx) ready for delivery on Breda factory field (sited in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan, Italy) in 1939 or 1940. The first two aircraft from right are of the single-control type with rear gunner open housing; the third aircraft is a trainer, dual-control type with the rear seat raised and equipped with a closed canopy. The prototype (unarmed) of this heavy fighter and ground attack aircraft set several speed records in 1937 (554 kmh, 344 mph) but the production aircraft were a complete failure being retired from front-line service within November 1940."
