05/29/2003. Remarks by Chris Pinn: "Another interesting Whitley. Whereas K7208 was built as a standard Mk.I and then used as a development airframe for the Whitley Mk.IV, K7209, which was also a Whitley Mk.I from the first production batch, served as a development airframe for the Whitley Mk.II. The most significant change on the Mk.II was the addition of a dual stage supercharger to the Tiger engines. A third Mk.I, K7211, served as a development aircraft for the Mk.III series." |
