06/26/2003. Remarks by Carlo Soliani: "On September 14, 1941, eleven Ju 87 B belonging to 239° Squadriglia of Italian AF, due to a shortage of fuel, were compelled to land in the Libyan desert in a zone controlled by the British troops and were all captured by them.
The aircraft depicted above is still with the bombs attached to the fuselage and to the wings, even after the forced landing. RAF personnel are inspecting the wreck.
Another aircraft, marked "239-18" (c/n 5763) was captured intact and was tested by RAF."
