06/26/2003. Remarks by Carlo
Soliani: "On September 14, 1941, eleven Ju 87 B belonging to
239° Squadriglia of Italian AF, due to a shortage of
fuel, were compelled to land in the Libyan desert in a zone
controlled by the British troops and were all captured by them. The
aircraft depicted is the Ju 87 B-2 marked 239-15 (c/n 5801),
still with the bombs attached to the fuselage and to the wings, even
after the forced landing. RAF personnel are inspecting the wreck.
Another aircraft, marked 239-18 (c/n 5763) was captured intact
and was tested by RAF."
