10/15/2006. Remarks by Doug MacPhail: "The aircraft depicted is the first production NA-29 BT-9C which was completed as the Y1BT-10 with a nose gun and a 600 hp R-1340-41 to lure the US Navy. Further modifications such as leading edge slats, coupled with the removal of the armament, resulted in the BT-10A. Eventually, the concept resulted in the NJ-1, a Wasp powered BT-9 for the Navy."
