Johan Visschedijk: "The single-seat experimental fighter Pulqúi (Arrow) was the first jet-propelled aircraft designed, built and flown in Latin America. It was designed by the expatriated Frenchman Emile Dewoitine and Commodore Juan San Martin and the sole example flew for the first time on August 9, 1947."
