08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "The C-54GM was essentially an unpressurized Douglas C-54G Skymaster with Rolls-Royce Merlin liquid cooled engines. This aircraft was delivered to the RCAF on February 10, 1948 and served all or part of its career with No. 426 (Transport) Squadron, Air Transport Command, based in Canada at RCAF Station Dorval, Quebec, (February 1948-August 31, 1959), RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario (September 1, 1959-December 31, 1961) and RCAF Station St. Hubert, Quebec (January 1-August 1962). During the Korean War, the aircraft operated from McChord AFB, Tacoma, Washington, USA, flying personnel and equipment to Tokyo, Japan.
The aircraft was sold to Samuel E. Sigal Enterprises on October 30, 1963 and subsequently scrapped."
