06/23/2025. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft type was one of the many derivations of the NA-16, of the SNJ-2 were only 61 built in two batches. The first batch, NA-65, of 36 aircraft (BuNo. 2008 to 2032, c/n 65-1997 to 65-2032) was ordered in September 1939, the second batch, NA-79, of 25 aircraft (BuNo. 2008 to 2032, c/n 79-3983 to 4007) was ordered in June 1940. Most of the SNJ-2s were delivered to US Naval Reserve Air Bases. After WW II most of the survivors came on the civil register. Pictured above is the first NA-65 SNJ-2 Texan."
