Remarks by Ed Coates: "The PA-22-150 was sold under the name of Piper Caribbean. No mention of 'Tri-Pacer' in their sales blurb when this model came out. The Caribbean was 'the poor man's airplane'. i.e. it was the austere (cut rate) model with the 150 hp engine, sans other niceties - mainly for training or club flying purposes. I flew N3414Z once. It was a dog. The "true" Tri-Pacer had a 160 hp engine." |
